Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau Detectives are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of four individuals. The incident occurred Friday January 5th, 2018, at approximately 7:00 a.m., on the 28800 block of Startree Lane in the City of Santa Clarita.

Detectives learned that Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the location regarding a check the welfare call.  Upon their arrival deputies located four individuals, who all sustained gunshot wounds to the upper torso.  All four individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.

Furthermore the investigation revealed two of the individuals were a married, husband and wife.  The other two individuals were the couple’s children.  One individual was identified a male Caucasian in his early 50’s and a second was identified a female Caucasian in her late 40’s.  The third individual was the couple’s daughter, identified as a female Caucasian in her early 20’s.  The last individual was the couple’s son, was identified as a male Caucasian in his preteen years. 
The incident appears to be a murder suicide, where the husband shot and killed all three family members and then turned the gun on himself. 

Detectives located the firearm at the scene.  Detectives are not seeking additional suspects.  The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information at this time.
