(By Eve Bushman) In my second year to cover the Universal Whisky Experience I was a pro, or at least expected to be one. I knew I would be attending the grand tasting – some four hours – and would have a chance to meet brand ambassadors as well as get plenty of “drams” of fine whiskey that not only would include single malts from Scotland but also single malts from other sources, as well as rye, bourbon and blended whisky.

What I was astounded by in the grand tasting – just as I was last year – was some of the aged and rare whisky the brands brought in for us to taste in both the grand tasting and in the master classes that were held the second day of the event. In these I would get to taste and learn from brand ambassadors, but in a sit-down setting and a lot less hurried.

This is how it turned out (If you just want to skip to the chase, here is the story in photos.)
